Chapter 325: The Great Dream Clan
Thinking about seeing those familiar faces again, Li Hao felt a touch of anticipation.
But unlike the fondness he felt for Lies Saint, the debts owed by Void Ancestor and God King were another matter entirely. Back then, they faked their deaths and left him no choice but to face the Ancient Fiend alone, nearly costing him his life. That account would need settling.
Now that they had pledged allegiance to the Celestial Palace, he was unsure of their current status. He would have to find a way to deal with it appropriately when the time came.
As these thoughts churned in Li Hao’s mind, two figures entered the palace from outside, engaged in conversation.
Li Hao looked up to see a man and a woman—an exceptionally well-matched pair, like a golden boy and jade girl standing together.
The young man was extraordinarily handsome, his eyes a deep blue, and his features bore a touch of feminine beauty.
The girl appeared quite young, around eighteen or nineteen. Her eyes held a subtle iridescence, and her garments floated like drifting clouds, reminiscent of the Great Dream Master’s own attire.
"Hmm?"
As Li Hao studied them, the two also noticed him. They stopped talking, clearly surprised.
Aside from them, who else would be in their master’s palace?
While their master had other disciples, all of them had long surpassed a soul lifespan of three thousand years and were not part of this journey.
After all, the Great Dream Master had said he would personally escort them, while others stayed behind to guard the Great Dream Nine Abysses, lest any rival sect launch a sneak attack.
“It’s you?”
Recognition flickered in their eyes. Both were stunned, their expressions shifting.
Li Hao’s exploits in the Ancient Immortal Realm—ascending Immortal Ascension City and defeating the royal clan—had been reflected across all nine thousand immortal cities of the Yan Chu Immortal Dynasty. His face was already well-known to them, especially since he had originated from the same Great Dream Nine Abysses Sect.
“What are you doing here? Who allowed you in?”
The young man’s face darkened as he stared at Li Hao.
Sensing the shift in their attitude and a hint of hostility, Li Hao remained unfazed. “And who are you two?”
“We’re Master’s disciples. You’re not!”
The young man grew angry at the defiance in Li Hao’s tone.
A realization dawned on Li Hao, and he replied calmly, “It was the Great Dream Master who invited me here.”
“Master?”
The young man’s expression shifted slightly. Still, he seemed to have half expected it—after all, no outsider could have entered without their master’s permission.
But that their master would show such favor to this youth, even allowing him here—he couldn’t help but feel envious, his eyes growing gloomy.
“Is that so? Well, this is Master’s resting place. You may remain, but don’t wander around.”
Li Hao raised an eyebrow, gave him a glance, but said nothing.
Seeing Li Hao stay silent made the young man even more displeased. But before he could say anything, the young woman beside him asked with curiosity:
“You stayed in the Origin Secret Realm for seven years. Which Origin City did you visit?”
Li Hao’s interest was piqued. “You’ve been there as well?”
He hadn’t seen these two in Origin City or even when the Great Dream Nine Abysses challenged the Desolate Domain in the Ancient Immortal Realm. Moreover, both clearly had the aura of the Immortal Lord Realm. Though their energy was restrained, it held a depth the True Immortal Realm lacked.
So aside from the one from Spear Abyss, there were two more Immortal Lords in the Great Dream Nine Abysses Sect? Hidden trump cards, perhaps.
“Mm, we were sent in advance. Master arranged it through other channels, but we earned it ourselves too—we achieved great immortal merit at the frontier, and we’ve been serving in the Demon-Suppressing Division. My senior brother and I are both First-Rank Demon-Suppressing Guards and are shortlisted for promotion to Spirit Officials. That’s why we had the chance.”
The young woman spoke with ease.
The young man’s face changed. “Junior Sister!”
He tried to stop her, but it was already too late. He could only transmit his voice: “This matter is confidential. No need to tell him so much.”
“It’s fine. Unless he earns great honors in the Southern Domain Battle Assembly, Master won’t go through the trouble of sending him in too.” The girl replied via sound transmission, unconcerned.
The young man thought she had a point and dropped the matter.
“Spirit Officials?”
Li Hao’s thoughts stirred. They were reserve Spirit Officials, while he, thanks to Old Gu and the immortal merit he’d accumulated, was already a Spirit Official in the Demon-Suppressing Division.
Perhaps through this connection, he might gain access to the Origin Secret Realm once more.
Even just fishing or painting there yielded insights greater than months of cultivation outside—it was a place where breakthroughs came with ease.
“You’re all here.”
A gentle voice sounded. The Great Dream Master had arrived, his figure gliding in from outside the palace.
“Master.”
The two immediately lowered their heads in greeting.
“Senior,” Li Hao also saluted.
The Great Dream Master lightly waved his hand, signaling that such formalities were unnecessary. He then turned to his two disciples and said:
“This is Haotian. You two should recognize him. Haotian, these are my disciples. Get to know each other. If other sects target you during the Southern Domain Battle Assembly, you can look out for one another.”
“Support each other?”
