Volume 3 - Chapter 327: The Great Battle Begins - Part 1
Beyond the myriad rays of divine light, swirling vortexes resembling stars spun through the sky, as bright and radiant as moonlight. Their glow illuminated the great hall, exuding a profound aura of the Grand Dao.
The members of the Yan Chu Immortal Dynasty were struck with awe at the sight, their spirits shaken and their hearts drawn toward it. In such a place of cultivation, even someone with mediocre aptitude might surpass the peerless talents of the outside world.
The freely flowing aura of the Grand Dao made it clear to everyone—this was a top-tier sacred land of cultivation, nearly on par with the Chaos Secret Realm.
While the Chaos Secret Realm did not match the Origin Secret Realm in rank, staying within it for years would still yield terrifying results.
"Some say it's better to be a dog at the emperor's side than a noble in the slums... I finally understand what that means."
One of the imperial clan members murmured absentmindedly.
"Even the guards stationed here enjoy such blessings—far beyond the cultivation realms we fight over."
"Is this the fortune that comes from serving beside a Supreme Emperor?"
"If one could become a Supreme Disciple, what unimaginable cultivation resources would they gain?"
Everyone was deeply shaken, envious, and even a little lost in despair.
Just the environment of this imperial palace alone had left them all in shock. If they were to face one of the Supreme Emperor’s disciples, they might not even have the will to resist.
Li Hao looked around, his gaze tinged with appraisal. Having previously seen the imperial palace left behind by Emperor Tianyang, he was not overly astonished. Instead, he found himself comparing the two.
The imperial pressure emanating from this hall was clearly more intense. That was to be expected—Emperor Tianyang’s palace now had only Luo Emperor remaining, the soul of the palace. But this palace still had a living Emperor residing within it, naturally drawing the essence of the Grand Dao to gather around it.
Li Hao understood well that the palace before them was very likely a Celestial-Forbidden Imperial Artifact!
At this moment, they were walking atop a piece of this artifact from the True Realm—even the vast staircase they had climbed earlier was part of it.
Feng Leixiang’s expression remained calm, but from the corner of his eye, he took note of the expressions of the Yan Chu crowd. The corners of his lips curved into a subtle smile. Aside from the Chu Emperor and the various sect leaders, the young talents were all visibly stunned. Only a few maintained composed and reserved demeanors.
"Let’s go," Feng Leixiang said, continuing forward.
The Chu Emperor led the group to the foot of the towering imperial palace.
"Announce them."
From within came a clear, commanding voice—there was no need for formal notification; the voice already knew they had arrived.
Feng Leixiang stepped aside, gesturing to the Chu Emperor.
The Chu Emperor’s expression was indifferent. Without looking at him, he calmly crossed the threshold of the palace’s barrier and stepped inside.
The others followed one by one, but everyone fell silent. No one dared speak—they lowered their heads, hearts filled with anxiety and unease.
Within the barrier stood a great hall suspended amidst starry clouds. Ancient bronze pillars loomed within the mist, around which the original forms of the Fengyu Clan and Dragonscale Clan elders coiled.
Feng Leixiang, who stood at the door, was also a member of the Fengyu Clan—a young prodigy of the clan. The Fengyu Clan was one of the Hundred Clans and now closely aligned with the Celestial Palace Supreme Emperor, increasing its prominence among the clans.
The figures coiling around the bronze pillars were elders of both clans, qualified to hear the Dao within the imperial palace.
Amid the fog ahead, a massive imperial throne loomed like a bronze gate, with an impossibly high backrest. Mist curled at its sides, and on it rested a radiant figure, as dazzling as the divine sun—too brilliant to look upon directly. Only their eyes, like stars and moons ablaze, seemed to devour the world.
For all present, including Li Hao, it was their first time facing a Celestial Emperor directly—the ultimate realm of cultivation, the final path for all cultivators.
The pressure of Imperial Dao drifted faintly through the hall. Though it was restrained, everyone felt as if a celestial body pressed down upon their heads. They could not lift their gaze, hearts gripped by fear and awe, every drop of blood and pore in their bodies shivering.
Li Hao, with his Eternal Dao Heart, had long since touched the threshold of the Imperial Dao. Under such pressure, he remained calm and could still act normally.
But those beside him—Gu Yan, Yuexi, and Li Tiemu—were pale, their eyes full of terror and tension. It was as though the gaze from the throne above was two falling stars about to crush them to pieces.
This fear was no less than what a mortal would feel gazing upon a Primordial Dragon—it was enough to stop one’s heart.
Li Hao lifted his head slightly and looked toward the Great Dream Master, who wore a solemn expression, head slightly bowed in reverence.
His gaze swept forward and found that nearly everyone else had subconsciously lowered their heads—save for a few. Two of them were Chu Tianhuang and Bo Ya Xuejian, both from the imperial family.
At the front stood the Chu Emperor, head held high and chest proudly out. His Dharma Aspect towered dozens of zhang, like a mountain shielding everyone from the oppressive imperial might.
As Li Hao observed, he suddenly felt those starry, moon-like eyes, heavy as mountains, gently press upon his shoulders—an unmistakable sign that the Supreme One was now looking at him.
"Chu Tianmu greets the Supreme."
