Cultivation Begins from Infancy - Ch 1022

Volume 3 -  Chapter 328: True Immortal Group - Part 3

That vortex led to an endless, abyssal place. From within emanated waves of intense malevolence, so foul and putrid they seemed almost tangible, evoking a nauseating urge to vomit and causing many present to visibly pale.

This feeling was familiar to most of those present—it was the aura of the Ancient Fiends!

“These two passageways lead to separate Ancient Fiend battlefields.”

At this moment, the Supreme Being spoke softly. “The fiends within were imprisoned from beyond the realm. Some of them bear the Dao Fire I have imprinted. Slay them, and the Dao Fire will be yours. Only by obtaining it can one be considered to have passed.”

Upon hearing this, everyone turned their gazes toward the two secret realms. Yet some among them began to show signs of unease.

Fight the Ancient Fiends?

No—surely it would not be just the fiends, but also their fellow competitors!

Clearly, the very first round of the Southern Domain Battle Assembly was already exceedingly brutal.

“Before you enter the secret realms, I shall preserve your soul-hearts. If you fall within, there will be a chance for reincarnation—but you must begin cultivation anew.”

The Supreme Being’s voice was calm. “The path of a peerless genius is strewn with thorns. Only by enduring the harshest trials can one hope to step into the King Realm, or even glimpse the Emperor Realm!”

Hearing these words, those who had harbored even the slightest hesitation now had resolute light in their eyes.

To have cultivated to the point of being hailed a peerless genius and arrived at this assembly, their Dao Hearts were by no means weak. None would shrink back on the battlefield.

Without the resolve to face life-and-death trials, how could one contend with the geniuses of myriad races, or do battle with Ancient Fiends?

As the Supreme Being finished speaking, the commander of the Celestial Guard drew forth a treasure from his robes—a massive black mirror.

The mirror stood tall like a stele, suspended in midair. Within its surface appeared the reflection of the commander, revealing a soul lifespan of 65,824 years!

“True Immortal Realm, enter the left realm; Immortal Lord Realm, the right!”

The Celestial Guard commander announced, “Before entry, your soul lifespan must be verified.”

At this, all present looked toward the two secret realms.

Suddenly, someone called out in a clear voice, “Though I am of the True Immortal Realm, I wish to challenge the Immortal Lord Realm’s secret realm. Might I be permitted?”

The voice was crisp and calm, brimming with self-assurance. Everyone turned to look at the speaker—it was a golden-haired youth.

He had sword-like brows, and though aware of the many stares upon him, he seemed unaffected. His entire being was enveloped in a domineering divine radiance, as though a young god had descended.

“He's from the Ancient God Clan—no wonder he's so arrogant!”

“I’ve heard that those of the Ancient God Clan are born mighty. From birth, their bodies are at the pinnacle of cultivation. It’s terrifying!”

“Just favored by the era, that’s all. Back in the chaos of the beginning, it’s said that a strand of a Chaotic Law merged into a creature’s body, thus creating the Ancient God Clan!”

The crowd murmured quietly, though some held expressions tinged with jealousy.

After all, to be born with such advantages was to surpass others by hundreds, even thousands of years of bitter cultivation. How could that not make one bitter?

But many remained calm. As part of the Hundred Clans, they were not necessarily inferior in lineage to the Ancient God Clan. That youth was merely one among them.

“No.”

At that moment, the Celestial Guard commander looked calmly at the youth from the Ancient God Clan.

“The fiends within the Immortal Lord Realm’s secret realm are all at Immortal Lord level. Among them, many peak at the Seventh Layer.”

“Meanwhile, those in the True Immortal Realm’s realm are all Tenth Layer True Immortal Fiends.”

“This is merely the first round of elimination. The combat within the secret realms will be reflected across the Southern Domain—do not take it lightly.”

Hearing this, the Ancient God youth furrowed his brows. When the commander mentioned the Seventh Layer of the Immortal Lord Realm, he hesitated briefly, then suppressed the urge to press further.

Had it been only the First or Second Layer, he might have insisted on trying. But the Seventh Layer... the gap was far too vast.

Even if he believed himself unmatched within the True Immortal Realm, he dared not challenge an Immortal Lord at the Seventh Layer. That was not just a difference of seven layers—it was a disparity of hundreds, perhaps thousands of times in strength!

And upon hearing the commander's words, some among the Immortal Lord Realm cultivators showed slight changes in expression. Even figures like Chu Tianhuang grew more solemn.

The higher the realm, the greater the gulf between layers. Though Chu Tianhuang had reached the Fourth Layer of the Immortal Lord Realm, he could only barely contend with a Sixth or Seventh Layer opponent. But against Ancient Fiends—monstrous beings—such battles could be grueling.

The difficulty of such a cross-realm challenge was no less than a True Immortal challenging an Immortal Lord!

“Within the secret realm, there are no rules. However, before entering, all of your Immortal Weapons, Immortal Talismans, and Immortal Pills—any external aid—will be stripped away!”

“Furthermore, in there, the Heaven and Earth Space cannot be opened. Any Dao Fire obtained must be carried on your person.”

The Celestial Guard commander concluded.
