Volume 3 - Chapter 329: Li Hao’s Soul Lifespan - Part 1
Hearing the announcement about stripping away Celestial Weapons and other external aids, none of those present were surprised—they had already been made aware of this.
At this very moment, the scene of all the gathered cultivators within the Forbidden Zone had already been projected across the entire Southern Domain of the True Realm. Even in the uninhabited stretches of the starry sky, this scene floated in the void, visible to Celestials and Deities adventuring through the stars.
Yet these seemingly commonplace words, once echoed to every corner, evoked sighs and sorrow from many.
After all, that secret realm now resembled a refined Gu cage—lethal and perilous. With Celestial Weapons and other external support stripped away, they could rely only on their raw combat strength. It was like charging in naked to battle savage Ancient Fiends. Even a slight difference in strength could mean death!
Though the Heaven’s Chosen ones entering the secret realm had all undergone rigorous selection by their respective Celestial Dynasties, just the first threshold of the Southern Domain Battle Assembly was already this brutal.
...
In a Celestial City.
Inside a teahouse, a young woman in a black dress sat silently, sipping her tea.
Above the Celestial City outside the teahouse, the projection of the gathering from the Southern Domain’s many Celestial Dynasties shimmered in the sky. The Celestial Guard Commander’s words echoed like thunder, resounding far and wide.
“These myriad clans are truly ruthless.”
Upon hearing those words, the girl’s lips curved slightly. If Li Hao were here, he would recognize her—she was none other than Mi Xueyao, who had once infiltrated the borders of the Yan Chu Immortal Dynasty.
Her appearance had changed slightly, but her stunning beauty remained unmistakable. At this moment, she bore no trace of her Ancient Fiend lineage, appearing every bit the exquisite beauty of the human race.
In her heart, she sighed. Stripping their own bloodline's descendants of their claws and tossing them into such a killing cage... Even the Ancient Fiends might not go this far. No wonder the myriad clans had fought them for a hundred thousand years and still remained unextinguished.
To select the finest of their Heaven’s Chosen, they were truly heartless—willing to clip their own wings.
...
“I said long ago, the cultivation competition among the myriad clans today is no longer the nurturing ground it was a hundred thousand years ago.”
“Alas, our clan remains divided. If we do not unite soon, there will be even more bloodshed in the future!”
Elsewhere, a figure wreathed in demonic energy stood in a bloodstained city—an ancient city long since fallen to invasion.
Upon seeing the projection above the city, the Ancient Fiend’s eyes gleamed with malice.
...
“Master, it’s that young man.”
Somewhere within the Yan Chu Immortal Dynasty, on territory held by the Spirit Clan, several figures gathered, gazing into the starry sky.
Within the projected light, countless figures stood tall—each a Heaven’s Chosen of their realm, each with a distinct presence. As their eyes searched, they finally found a familiar figure among them.
Seeing that young man standing amidst the crowd of Heaven’s Chosen, still exuding a singular radiance, smiles spread across their faces.
“I knew it. That boy would go far. Who would’ve thought—less than ten years, and he’s gone from First Level of True Immortal Realm to its pinnacle!”
An elder of the Spirit Clan smiled broadly.
“He once defeated a royal clan member while still in the True Immortal Realm. With that news spreading, I fear other True Immortal cultivators may try to target him in this round.”
Beside him, a Spirit Clan maiden voiced her concern.
“Hard to say. With power like that, he may just deter many of those with wicked intentions.”
The Spirit Clan elder stroked his beard and replied.
“Master, do you think he can make the top ten among the True Immortal cultivators?”
A middle-aged man who often played strategy games with the elder asked.
“The hope is strong.”
The elder’s eyes were filled with anticipation.
...
“Hm?”
In the vastness of the starry sky, a swiftly streaking figure suddenly halted. Seeing the projected image spanning the starry void, his eyes flickered with a trace of bewilderment.
When he clearly made out the figure of that supreme one, his expression shifted, and he muttered in a daze:
“It’s really him…”
Then, within the projection, he spotted the youth’s figure at a glance.
He fell into a daze again before narrowing his eyes. A sudden realization seemed to strike him, causing his expression to subtly change.
He stood motionless for a long time, seemingly deep in thought, a faint sense of unease stirring within him.
Then he saw the temporal ripple he had been pursuing—a multicolored streak of light—racing forward. That direction… it seemed to point directly toward the heart of the Southern Domain.
Without hesitation, he resumed the chase, surging forward with renewed speed.
