Volume 3 - Chapter 331: A Casual Defeat - Part 2
The purple-robed young man smiled faintly. A streak of purple light flickered across his forehead, and an unusual wave of scorching heat suddenly surged through the surrounding void. In the next moment, a cluster of violet thunderfire appeared, instantly transforming into a Lightning Prison Inferno, encircling all the Ancient Fiends.
Under the searing blaze of the violet thunderfire, the Ancient Fiends let out agonized wails. Sharp Primordial Spirit Demon Blades shot forth from the black vortex, but before they could approach the purple-robed youth, they were shattered by bolts of lightning that materialized out of thin air.
In the blink of an eye, that purgatory-like scene vanished. The flesh of the Ancient Fiends had all been incinerated, leaving behind only charred skeletons.
The purple-robed youth glanced around, but saw no trace of the so-called Dao Flame. He murmured, "Don’t tell me... it destroyed the Dao Flame as well?"
Somewhat uncertain, he shook his head. "Seems I’ll have to take a gentler approach."
With that, he flicked his folding fan and turned to continue his flight.
This scene was projected far and wide, stirring cries of astonishment across the various Immortal Dynasties. Countless cultivators began paying close attention to this purple-robed youth.
...
Boom!
In a forest somewhere, a streak of golden lightning shot forward at extreme speed.
Roar!
An Ancient Fiend suddenly leapt into view. It barely managed to let out a roar before the golden lightning pierced through it, blasting a hole through its body. Its Primordial Spirit perished in the same instant.
The golden lightning paused briefly, revealing the figure of a young man with golden hair—he was a youth from the Ancient God Clan.
He glanced back, but did not see the Dao Flame, and so continued pressing forward.
"I wonder if I’ll run into anyone from the other Immortal Dynasties... How many of these Ancient Fiends did they release? If I wipe them all out, this first round of screening should get rid of a bunch of useless trash."
A smirk curled at the corner of the Ancient God Clan youth’s lips. His speed surged again, vanishing in a flash.
...
"Hmm? Picking up scraps?"
High in the sky, Li Hao was speeding through the air when he suddenly spotted the corpses of two Ancient Fiends on a nearby mountaintop.
He was a little surprised and instantly shifted over. Taking a glance at the corpses, he noted the wounds were minimal—each had only a single spear hole.
Without hesitation, he opened a rift in space and swept the Ancient Fiend corpses inside.
"Seems someone’s already been through here. But that’s fine—since they don’t want the corpses, it doesn’t matter who kills them."
Li Hao thought to himself, this just saved him the trouble.
Spreading his divine sense, he scanned the surroundings but found no trace of whoever had slain the fiends. They had clearly already left.
He continued forward and soon encountered another Ancient Fiend.
With a casual sweep of his sword light, the fiend was pierced before it could even approach. Then, a terrifying rift opened beside the corpse, faintly revealing more Ancient Fiend bodies within.
The rift swallowed the body and closed again.
As time passed, numerous cultivators began to shine across the many battlefields within the True Immortal Realm Secret Domain, drawing widespread attention.
...
In a vast mountain range filled with steep ridges and deep valleys, Li Hao followed the scent of malice to this place. With a sweep of his gaze, he immediately sensed that shadows among the peaks were concealing the presence of Ancient Fiends.
He was surprised—they seemed to be preparing an ambush, rather than attacking outright.
Whoosh!
Just then, a figure came streaking in from afar.
Like Li Hao, this newcomer made no effort to conceal their aura, as if deliberately trying to draw the Ancient Fiends out.
Upon seeing Li Hao in midair, the figure slowed down, revealing the form of a spear-wielding youth.
"Hmm?"
With a glance, he recognized Li Hao—it was the youth with the lowest Soul Lifespan from earlier.
"Interesting."
A faint smile, tinged with playful battle intent, appeared on the spear-wielding youth’s face. "Feel like sparring?"
He was curious—how strong could someone with such low Soul Lifespan really be?
"No."
Li Hao shook his head, too lazy to waste time on such nonsense.
The spear-wielding youth was momentarily stunned by the blunt rejection. Then a look of scorn flashed in his eyes.
"Then I’m afraid you don’t get a choice. Coming here means paying a price. A short Soul Lifespan doesn’t mean others will go easy on you."
To the peerless geniuses, there was only one proper response to a challenge—to fight. Refusing was no different from admitting defeat.
But what irked him the most was how calm and indifferent Li Hao looked even as he backed down. If you weren’t going to fight, at least retreat respectfully.
He didn’t bother to speak further and struck directly, not giving Li Hao a chance to respond again.
Time was precious to him, too.
Whoosh!
In an instant, he crossed the distance with Void Return Teleportation, and as he reappeared, he unleashed his movement technique.
He understood that at the Southern Domain Battle Assembly level, many cultivators could detect traces of Void Return Teleportation. Even with his Primordial Spirit masking him, he couldn’t be sure of staying hidden.
His figure became a blur, faster than light, his spear infused with the power of the Thunder Dao, as well as the Dao of Water, one of the Nine Sequences!
