Chapter 337: Li Hao, the Scavenger - Part 3
The Emperor of Chu and the others nodded in praise, offering generous commendations without hesitation.
The Supreme Celestial Palace Sovereign merely glanced over, his expression unchanged. He offered only a faint smile at the others' praises and said:
“It’s merely a few hundred Ancient Fiends. If it were a few thousand gathered, I might then have my disciple take action.”
He turned his gaze to the young man beside him.
The Emperor of Chu, the Empress of the Yuanzun Immortal Dynasty, and others were momentarily stunned before realizing that the “disciple” he’d referred to earlier likely wasn't this youth, but rather the two disciples still within the secret realm.
Considering the snow-robed youth's earlier actions, it was indeed plausible that those two disciples could have handled these gathered Ancient Fiends.
“It seems that in this Southern Domain Battle Assembly, the competition for supremacy lies between your two disciples,” the Empress of the Red Border Immortal Dynasty sighed softly.
She had seen her own imperial son waiting passively beyond the Crimson Cloud, taking no action. While that was the cautious choice, it also made clear the vast difference in strength.
...
Meanwhile, within the True Immortal Secret Realm—
The dark underworld-like region had dissipated. Emperor Linchen stood in the void, his robe fluttering slightly, somewhat disheveled and stained with traces of demonic blood.
His hair billowed around him as he calmly adjusted his breathing, then turned his head toward the distant Li Hao. With a flicker of his figure, he appeared before Li Hao like a teleportation.
Despite the Immortal Seal on his forehead having already vanished and withdrawn, the oppressive might of his Imperial Clan bloodline still made Miao Bubai, Gu Xingwan, and the others visibly uneasy.
“You go collect that corpse. Do you still want these Dao Flames?”
He raised his hand, revealing several dozen Dao Flames in his palm.
Seeing so many Dao Flames, Miao Bubai and another young cultivator both revealed subtle changes in expression.
Though they had already acquired Dao Flames of their own, it was obvious from the demeanor of this Imperial Clan youth that if Li Hao wanted more, he would simply give them to him.
Could their relationship truly run that deep?
The two exchanged a look and couldn’t help casting a deep glance at Li Hao.
Li Hao glanced at the Dao Flames, then gently shook his head and said, “I have enough. If I need more, I’ll hunt some later. You should keep these.”
“They're no use to me anyway,” Emperor Linchen replied with a shake of his head. He then raised his hand and flung the dozens of Dao Flames skyward. They shot out in all directions.
“Whoever wants them, take them.”
With that, he turned to Li Hao and said, “I’m heading back.”
“Alright.”
Li Hao nodded. Once Emperor Linchen disappeared, he wasted no time. He rushed to the battlefield, opened a spatial rift, and began collecting the numerous corpses scattered across the area.
Miao Bubai glanced at the dispersed Dao Flames but didn’t chase after them. His expression was somewhat complex. If he encountered this Imperial Clan youth in the upcoming duels, he felt he might just surrender on the spot to conserve strength.
“He actually dealt with them all by himself. That guy… could he be a Nine Sequences Immortal Seal bearer?”
Another youth narrowed his eyes, deeply wary.
As the battle concluded, the various prodigies of the Immortal Dynasties gathered around the Crimson Cloud all firmly etched the name “Emperor Linchen” into their memories.
“Let’s go. There are more over there—we should check it out.”
After finishing collecting the corpses, Li Hao called to Lin Qingying and Gu Xingwan.
The two girls exchanged a glance, finally recovering from their shock. They hadn’t expected that Li Hao’s friend could eliminate hundreds of Ancient Fiends alone.
Seeing Li Hao heading toward the next Crimson Cloud location, the girls quickly followed.
When they arrived, that battle had also ended. Shen Wuji was brushing demonic flesh off himself. Spotting Li Hao approaching, he raised an eyebrow and gave him a look as if to say, “Don’t forget what you promised me,” then instantly vanished.
“That person seems to know you too,” Lin Qingying noted keenly.
Li Hao simply smiled and said nothing, focusing instead on collecting the battlefield corpses.
Outside the secret realm, many were also paying attention to Li Hao’s actions, and were visibly puzzled.
“What is that guy doing, collecting all the Ancient Fiend corpses?”
“Looks like some kind of janitor. Anyone who doesn’t know might think he’s the one cleaning up the secret realm.”
“Could those corpses still contain treasure?”
“Don’t be ridiculous. If they did, others would’ve already been collecting them too.”
“Maybe he just has a weird obsession?”
Amid the countless comments, people chuckled and mocked Li Hao’s strange behavior.
As time passed, Li Hao moved from one Ancient Fiend gathering to another. Under the crimson glow of the clouds, these locations were highly visible even from afar.
However, when he arrived, each area was already surrounded by groups locked in battle with the Fiends.
Some fought in groups of three or five, others in tens, even hundreds.
Li Hao was more than happy to exploit the chaos. While others fought, he slipped in to gather corpses amid the fray.
As more and more corpses accumulated within his spatial rift, the smile on Li Hao’s face grew ever more radiant.
