Chapter 347: Gathering of Geniuses - Part 2
Seeing the Sect Master giving him special attention, the others looked toward Li Hao with a trace of envy in their eyes. Yet, they all understood well—Li Hao was indeed the sect’s hope, and his performance had far surpassed theirs.
After all, among all those present, none but Li Hao had ascended to the summit of the Mountain of Inquiry.
Even the three True Immortal-level cultivators nearby, including Yin Jingcheng, had failed to reach the top.
“Let’s go.”
At this moment, Emperor Chu, seated among the clouds, rose and beckoned, signaling the royal family of Yan Chu and the various sects to leave and rest.
Li Hao glanced at Lin Qingying, who was following the disciples of the Myriad Mountains Sword Tower. Their eyes met, and though no words were spoken, their thoughts were clearly conveyed. They would see each other again in three days.
As the various Immortal Dynasties departed, the area outside the Mountain of Inquiry gradually quieted down.
Golden mist still enshrouded the mountaintop, slowly cascading downward, enveloping the Hall of Inquiry. It exuded a stillness like that of eternal time, silent and unmoving.
...
Li Hao and his group returned to the courtyard arranged by the Celestial Palace to rest.
Each Immortal Dynasty had been assigned separate accommodations, ensuring no mutual disturbance.
Li Hao handed the two Xuanming Dragon Immortals he had fished earlier to the Great Dream Master and said, “Sect Master, I noticed your painting realm lacks a certain touch. These two dragon creatures might be worth raising.”
“They’ll make fine pond dwellers.”
Seeing the two dragons fished from the Mountain of Inquiry, the Great Dream Master couldn't help but recall the radiant light surrounding Li Hao in the Dao Pavilion. A faint smile touched her lips. She didn’t decline and accepted them readily, saying,
“With your current strength, these two dragons wouldn’t even qualify to serve as your guards. I’ll go ahead and keep them.”
“No need to be polite,” Li Hao replied with a smile.
“You might not have sensed it during the trial, but within the True Immortal Realm, there are still many formidable enemies worth your attention. I’ve captured footage of their performance both in the realm and atop the mountain. You should take a look—just in case you encounter them during the upcoming battles.”
The Great Dream Master addressed Li Hao.
Li Hao was about to decline but then figured that with three days of leisure ahead, it wouldn’t hurt to learn about his potential opponents.
“Most other sects will likely compile footage of your performance for their disciples to study. After all, you’ve become one of the most prominent figures in the True Immortal Realm.”
With that, the Great Dream Master raised her hand, and a painting-style realm manifested. In the void above, hazy scenes gradually became vivid, replaying moments from the earlier trials in the True Immortal Secret Realm.
Li Hao fetched a small bench, pulled out some of his hand-cooked snacks from his spatial domain, and sat in the courtyard, munching as he watched.
Unfortunately, the battles had been too intense and left him no time to cook all the ancient fiend corpses he’d gathered from the spatial rift. Otherwise, his soul power would surely have advanced even further!
“What’s that delicious smell? Where did you buy those?”
The Great Dream Master sniffed with her delicate, jade-like nose, clearly surprised by the aroma of Li Hao’s pastries.
Li Hao chuckled. “I made them myself.”
He was relieved that the Dao Embodiment of Cooking hadn’t manifested atop the Mountain of Inquiry. Otherwise, he might’ve had to cook a whole meal in front of the entire Southern Domain!
“You made them?”
The Great Dream Master was momentarily stunned, her expression turning curious. She picked up a piece, placed it in her mouth, and her beautiful eyes widened with disbelief.
“Did you really make these?”
She quickly swallowed and couldn’t help asking again.
Li Hao nodded with a smile and resumed eating.
The Great Dream Master stared blankly for a moment. Remembering Li Hao’s dazzling performance atop the mountain, she grew quiet. Just how many more surprises does this fellow still hide from me?
She extended her hand again, quietly picked up another piece, and began eating at a measured pace.
Before long, she had finished one and, with a discreet motion, took another, still eating slowly.
As Li Hao reached out for another piece, he found the plate empty.
He froze for a moment and looked at the Great Dream Master—she still held a piece in her hand, chewing ever so slowly.
Had he eaten too quickly without realizing?
Puzzled, he didn’t think too much of it and brought out two more plates.
At that moment, his gaze fell on a white-clothed youth wielding a sword in the projection.
The youth had charged into a horde of ancient fiends—and with a single sword strike, had annihilated them all!
That sword’s brilliance was so sharp that even Li Hao felt its radiance. He admitted to himself—only if he went all out could he hope to match that.
“So powerful.”
Li Hao narrowed his eyes and murmured.
Seeing the person Li Hao was focused on, the Great Dream Master spoke in a low voice, “That’s Jian Xin, the personal disciple of the Supreme of the Celestial Palace. You saw his name on the Dao Flame Ranking. With his power, if he focused entirely on culling enemies, he could probably wipe out half the fiends in the secret realm. From what I can tell, his Sword Dao has reached the fifth tier!”
“Sword Dao, fifth tier…”
