Volume 3 - Chapter 365: Defeating a God - Part 3
The power of the All-Heavens Star Vein was still sealed by that eerie war song. Although there were signs of loosening, it was still impossible to condense that immense immortal power again in the short term.
He had already drained every bit of immortal power within the Imperial Terrace.
“You’re just a spent arrow now!”
Shen Wuji’s primordial spirit swept out, sensing the fading immortal power within Li Hao. His eyes lit up, and he burst into laughter. “Without the final stage of the All-Heavens Star Vein, no one can outlast me!”
Even as he spoke, blood and flesh rapidly regenerated across his physical form.
But as his body recovered, a golden phantom emerged from within Li Hao’s form.
“I never intended to wear you down. If that’s all you’ve got… then just admit defeat!”
As he spoke, Li Hao’s primordial spirit phantom raised its hand. In his palm, a vortex collapsed into being, sucking Shen Wuji’s primordial spirit toward it.
Shen Wuji froze, his pupils narrowing. Just moments ago, the Ghost Clan had already fallen to Li Hao’s primordial spirit. They couldn’t contend with him—how could he?
Though his own primordial spirit was far from weak, he only now realized how terrifying Li Hao’s truly was!
He roared in rage, struggling with all his might to resist. But he was still dragged inexorably toward Li Hao, until that golden hand seized him and compressed his primordial spirit into a golden soul orb.
“Looks like he’s lost.”
Gui Lingyue watched the scene unfold and immediately understood—Shen Wuji had no chance of turning the tide.
She cast a deep gaze upon the scene atop the Imperial Terrace. The power displayed by both combatants was monstrous—she admitted to herself that she wouldn’t be able to face either of them in the short term.
Beside her, Gui Lingshuang nodded faintly. Her eyes flickered, and she suddenly felt a sense of urgency in her heart. That boy had cultivated for merely a century and already reached such heights—he might catch up to them sooner than they thought.
“Incredible…”
Elsewhere, Bo Ya Xuejian, Chu Tianhuang, and the others all took deep breaths, their expressions a mixture of awe and rueful admiration.
Once these two stepped into the Immortal Lord Realm, they would become terrifying opponents. None of them were confident they could win.
A battle of this caliber within the True Immortal Realm was truly astonishing.
“So powerful…”
Chu Yueli’s eyes sparkled as her chin lifted slightly, a hard-to-describe excitement bubbling within her. The thought that this man would soon become her husband stirred emotions she could hardly name.
“Admit defeat. You have no more chances.”
On the Imperial Terrace, Li Hao opened his palm and looked at the orb in his hand.
Shen Wuji’s face was faintly visible within it, twisted in fury and disbelief. He had never imagined he’d share the same fate as the Ghost Clan before him.
Now, even as he struggled frantically, he found himself utterly powerless. Li Hao’s primordial spirit was more fearsome than even that last crushing blow.
“How is your primordial spirit this strong? How did you cultivate it?”
He couldn’t help but ask.
A soul barely a hundred years old, yet already mastering the Nine Sequences Immortal Seal—and with a primordial spirit this overwhelming—it was as if he had no weaknesses at all!
Shen Wuji himself had only refined his primordial spirit to this level with the aid of countless clan elders and the consumption of countless celestial materials.
So how had this youth done it?
“It’s rude to pry into another’s cultivation path.”
Li Hao chuckled.
Shen Wuji realized he’d misspoken and knew Li Hao would never answer. But the shock still roiled within him—it was hard to accept.
Li Hao’s grip tightened ever so slightly, further compressing his primordial spirit.
Shen Wuji came to his senses, his expression turning complex and bitter, as though he were weeping blood. Gritting his teeth, he said, “I admit defeat!”
He had never imagined the day would come when those three words would pass his lips.
He used to think anyone who admitted defeat in a duel was weak—that it was better to die than surrender. But now that it was his turn, he suddenly understood how those defeated prodigies had felt.
With a flick of his hand, Li Hao flung his primordial spirit outward, the body shrinking and returning to its original form.
Shen Wuji’s primordial spirit returned to his flesh, and he swiftly mobilized his body. In an instant, his form healed.
His face was dark as he withdrew his power. The sealing forces on the Imperial Terrace vanished, and Li Hao once again felt the presence of the All-Heavens Star Vein. In a flash, his body recovered fully, his immortal power surging back to its peak.
“This battle is decided! In the name of the Yan Chu Immortal Dynasty, and on behalf of the Great Dream Nine Abysses Sect, the Human Clan’s Haotian is victorious!”
The Celestial Guard Commander stepped forward. His eyes fell on Li Hao, though there was a murky glint difficult to decipher as he spoke solemnly.
Though his voice was low, it echoed across the entire Southern Domain. In the brief silence that followed, countless Immortal Cities erupted into thunderous cheers.
All of them shouted Li Hao’s name.
No one had expected such a brilliant and ferocious fight.
Li Hao had defeated one mighty clan after another—and now even the Ancient God Clan lay crushed beneath his feet, his Nine Sequences Immortal Seal on full display.
“The Human Clan… Could it be… is he still holding something back?”
Gui Lingyue heard the Celestial Guard Commander’s declaration, and her expression abruptly shifted. From the start, she had never believed that Li Hao was just a primitive human without a special bloodline.
