Volume 3 - Chapter 377: Blood on the Imperial Platform - Part 1
"Facing a True Immortal with a mere Immortal Lord cultivation, and you still want to gang up on him?"
A cold voice rang out.
On the Imperial Platform, Jianxin, who had earlier been defeated by Li Hao, now soared back in, his clothes and bearing restored, a cold expression on his face.
He swept a glance over the white-haired youth and his companion, his voice frosty. "At the very least, fight him one-on-one."
The trio’s expressions shifted slightly at his words—they hadn’t expected Jianxin to speak up for Li Hao.
Not far off, Mingyue's eyes flickered as well. Though she disliked Li Hao, she felt even more disdain toward the three Immortal Lords who sought to gang up on a True Immortal. Challenging someone of a higher realm was already shameless enough—resorting to numbers only exposed their incompetence.
"Senior Jin should be able to finish this quickly. We’re just here to help tidy up the corpse."
The white-haired youth replied with a faint smile.
Jin Fengling had originally intended to echo Jianxin's suggestion and have his companions withdraw. But hearing the compliment, he nodded and said,
"That's right. No need to waste time. Step aside—others are waiting to fight after this."
Jianxin sneered faintly. "You think just because you're in the Immortal Lord realm, this will be easy? You might be in for a surprise."
That said, he turned to glance at Li Hao, as if wanting to speak—but ultimately said nothing. A trace of regret flickered in his eyes as he turned and flew away.
Since Li Hao had chosen his path, Jianxin would not interfere. After all, making choices was a skill in itself.
"Senior Brother."
Mingyue quickly followed.
"I'm fine," Jianxin replied, shaking his head.
As they floated atop the clouds, Jianxin gazed toward the towering figure seated in the distance, guilt flashing in his eyes. He bowed his head.
"Master, I’ve disappointed you."
"No matter. You've been victorious since youth—defeat was inevitable someday. That it came now may be a blessing in disguise. I hope you gain something from it."
The Supreme of the Celestial Palace responded calmly, his voice touched with rare softness.
Jianxin’s eyes sharpened at his words. Gain? His Dao heart had nearly collapsed earlier, his sword heart fractured. He had even considered abandoning the ancestral soul of the ancient Sword Immortal buried deep in his bloodline. The might of the Imperial Path Sword Technique still haunted him.
But now, he had stabilized. He hadn't been defeated so easily after all.
His master once told him: the first defeat was his first tribulation, his first trial—and he had survived it, barely.
"My sword path is still lacking. Though I forged my blade through the Nine Sequences, I merely condensed their power without true understanding. I failed to merge them into one. And yet... he only used five..."
Standing amid the drifting clouds, Jianxin's eyes gleamed. That young man’s swordplay had stirred him deeply. A new path was dawning within his heart.
He believed that once he had digested this battle, should they cross swords again, he would not lose.
But... that chance may never come.
A trace of regret and sorrow surfaced in his eyes.
Back on the Imperial Platform, the sealing formation activated, enveloping Li Hao and the three figures of Jin Fengling’s group.
The white-haired youth and the green-robed girl’s senior brother stood at the edge of the platform.
Although all of them wanted to slay Li Hao and present his head to the Supreme of the Celestial Palace, now that a stance had been made—and under the watchful eyes of all of South Domain—three Immortal Lords ganging up on a True Immortal would be an unbearable disgrace, one that might stain them with infamy for ten thousand years.
"Brother Jin, just leave him barely alive for me."
The white-haired youth said with a chuckle.
Jin Fengling, holding the Demon-Slaying Sword, stepped toward Li Hao with an icy gaze. Without turning his head, he replied,
"I'm afraid there won't be that chance."
Though the goal was to kill Li Hao, Jin didn’t plan to rely solely on the Immortal Weapon. His own immortal power began to ripple outward, the full might of an Immortal Lord spreading across the Imperial Platform.
Immortal Lord Realm, fourth level.
He hadn’t forcibly raised his cultivation, yet even among the South Domain’s young elite, his realm ranked among the highest.
Given the three-thousand-year soul-life limit, reaching fourth-tier Immortal Lord and mastering multiple Daos required immense effort and time.
As his power surged, a tempest of immortal energy erupted across the platform. Its sheer intensity surpassed even the clash between Li Hao and Jianxin earlier.
After all, an Immortal Lord’s sheer energy far outclassed that of a True Immortal. Not to mention—he was a heaven’s favored Immortal Lord.
Behind him, the Earth Vein of Heaven and Earth manifested, extending outward. Light dots began to coalesce—it was the embryonic form of the Celestial Star Meridian!
This meant—he could bear even more immortal energy!
"That’s… the prototype of the Celestial Star Meridian!"
"What a terrifying display of immortal force! This is what the Immortal Lord realm is like—no wonder True Immortals can’t compare."
"Feels like any True Immortal would be crushed with a flick of his finger!"
