Cultivation Begins from Infancy - Ch 1178

Volume 3 - Chapter 379: Descent - Part 1

“Quick, stop him!”

The green-dressed girl’s fellow disciple bellowed, his body flaring with the aura of a second-level Immortal Lord. Around him, emerald chains surged into existence—manifestations of his Immortal Dao Laws: the Evergreen Laws of the Wood Dao.

But this technique excelled more in defense than offense.

Under the restriction of those verdant chains, the surrounding celestial energy near Li Hao was siphoned away. While the Evergreen Laws bolstered the cultivator’s own strength, their more insidious use was to sever others from celestial energy—stealing it outright.

Li Hao was still only a True Immortal. Although his All-Heavens Star Vein granted him vast reserves of celestial power, the energy gathering around him was swept away by those emerald chains, rapidly diminishing the strength coursing through his body.

Without his own Immortal Dao Laws to counteract it, Li Hao could only endure.

At that very moment, the white-haired youth had already flashed in close, his domain surging with crimson energy as it broke into Li Hao’s own. A spear thrust aimed directly for the kill.

But the Taowu Immortal Weapon let out a shriek and swept forth like a blade piercing the heavens, intercepting the thrust.

All of this transpired in an instant. By now, the golden arrow in Li Hao’s hand had already taken form—two of them!

Bang!

He released the bowstring. A bolt of golden light tore through the air, carrying with it a pure, soul-annihilating force.

The white-haired youth’s pupils constricted. With a hurried gesture, he summoned forth a small white figure, like a lotus-root doll, which rushed to take the hit and was promptly obliterated by the arrow.

Taking advantage of the brief moment of reprieve, the white-haired youth surged forward with his spear, unleashing the power of his Dharma Image and his bloodline. He could not afford to let Li Hao loose a second shot.

But the other arrow had already flown, piercing straight through the head of Zuo Zhangdao. His body remained largely unharmed—but his soul was nailed out of his skull.

The surrounding Evergreen Laws of the Wood Dao began to violently tremble, celestial energy surging chaotically.

Unlike Li Hao, Zuo Zhangdao’s soul wasn’t nearly as resilient. The arrow had impaled it, pinning it to the boundary of the sealing formation.

A burning force spread along the shaft. Zuo Zhangdao’s soul let out a tormented scream, writhing in agony against the barrier—like a fish nailed to the chopping board. His body twitched uncontrollably, but his head couldn’t move an inch.

The shocking scene left countless onlookers utterly stunned.

“Senior Brother!”

Outside the imperial platform, the green-dressed girl and her fellow disciples cried out in horror. They rushed toward the stage, only to be stopped by the formation’s barrier.

Several experts from their sect arrived shortly after, faces twisted in urgency and rage. Yet none dared forcefully break the sealing formation. Instead, they clasped hands respectfully toward the Celestial Guard Commander above the imperial platform, pleading for the barrier to be opened.

The commander surveyed the scene below, visibly shaken by Li Hao’s performance. He clearly hadn’t expected that the supposed cornered beast would turn out to be a tiger of such ferocity.

Yet he remained silent in the face of the Heaven-Sect’s request.

“You mustn’t!”

Just then, Jianxin stepped forward, his face cold as frost. “Three Immortal Lords ganging up on him—and now that they’ve lost, you want a way out?”

The Heaven-Sect’s leader and several elders turned livid, their faces black as soot.

Their disciples had only intervened because Jianxin had been defeated, losing face for the supreme lineage. And now here Jianxin stood, siding with the boy who had beaten him. The hypocrisy left a bitter taste in their mouths.

If he could have won in the first place, none of this would’ve happened… The thought burned in their hearts, but Jianxin was the personal disciple of a Supreme, and they dared not voice their resentment.

“It was all a misunderstanding…”

While they scrambled to defuse the situation, the imperial platform was a whirlwind of escalating chaos.

The white-haired youth’s attacks grew increasingly frenzied. Li Hao could see clearly that his opponent feared the second arrow. After all, this divine bow was terrifying indeed—its arrows drew strength from the soul. The stronger one’s soul, the greater the bow’s power.

Against anyone with a weaker soul than Li Hao, the second arrow was inescapable death!

Bang!

Li Hao’s movement technique burst forth once more. Without the Evergreen Laws draining his power, his strength returned. Water, fire, and form fused together in his body technique. He moved like a ghost, dodging with eerie agility—but the opponent’s spear intent still locked onto him.

With a sickening crunch, the spear pierced through Li Hao’s body. Divine blood sprayed into the air.

Yet Li Hao remained calm and unhurried. His fingers were already on the bowstring—drawing a second arrow.

A wound for a kill!

The white-haired youth’s eyes narrowed, panic flashing through them. He had just used the Nascent Spirit-Breaking Arrow defense—the divine item “Mixed-Path Lotus Core”—to block the first shot. It was a consumable treasure, and he only had one. Now, he had no choice but to rely on himself.

But could he endure it?

He unleashed a barrage of spear strikes. The void shattered. His Dharma Image trembled behind him, his domain suffused with swirling crimson mist.

All his might surged forth. The divine light inside the platform rippled, Immortal Dao Laws cracking the air like thunderclouds rolling across the sky.

But against all this chaos, a single beam of golden light shot straight ahead—unstoppable.

The myriad illusions and divine phenomena froze in place, as if time itself had been sealed.

A golden nascent spirit was pierced through, struggling desperately, yet powerless to resist. It was nailed to the sealing barrier like the last.
