Volume 3 - Chapter 381: The Quasi-Imperial Scion - Part 3
But once they learned the youth was from the Imperial Clan, everything suddenly made sense.
After all, the majesty of the Imperial Clan had long since been etched into the bones of every race in the True Realm.
No one dared to slight the dignity of the Imperial Clan.
Even a junior of the Imperial Clan would be treated with respect among the various clans. As the pinnacle of power in the True Realm, the Imperial Clan stood exalted and untouchable, capable of making all other races bow their heads.
"You..."
Neither the Hidden Sea Clan nor the Wind Spirit Clan had expected this Imperial youth to intervene. Their expressions darkened with a mixture of anger and surprise.
Worse still, he had compared their actions to those of the Sin Immortals. And the problem was—objectively speaking—he wasn’t wrong.
But some things were better left unsaid. This brat had no right to expose them like this!
Yet... he was from the Imperial Clan.
"Mind your words. Even if you’re of the Imperial Clan, this is our personal vendetta. You have no right to meddle!" said the Wind Spirit Clan Chief in a cold, heavy tone.
This was, after all, the Southern Domain. For an Imperial junior to appear here, there must be elders of the Imperial Clan watching nearby. Hence, the clan chief’s attitude remained polite, but his meaning was firm.
After all, they couldn’t just retreat with tails between their legs after a single comment from the other side. That would be far too humiliating.
"This person is a friend of the Imperial Clan. He has committed no wrong, and none of you shall kill him."
Di Linchen's face darkened as he spoke plainly: the Imperial Clan intended to protect Li Hao.
His words caused both the Wind Spirit Clan and the Hidden Sea Clan to change expressions. They had claimed this was a personal grudge, a matter of private vengeance. But now the Imperial youth had declared Li Hao a friend of the Imperial Clan. If they killed him, it would be equivalent to killing a friend of the Empire.
"He's from the Imperial Clan? And he’s actually protecting Haotian?"
"As expected of the number one clan in the True Realm. Their sense of scale truly eclipses all others."
All across the Southern Domain, cultivators were stirring, expressions filled with admiration.
But before they could say more, a cold voice echoed from the mountain peak—and spread throughout the Southern Domain like ripples across water.
"And when did the Imperial Clan ever have such a friend?"
A young man in a silver-white robe stepped forth from the ranks of the Immortal Lord realm. His eyes shimmered like starlight, calm and leisurely, as he said:
"That’s your personal friend, not a friend of the Imperial Clan. As the descendant of a Sin Immortal, he seeks to walk away from this... But what if he throws in his lot with the Ancient Fiends and becomes a great threat to humanity in the future? What then?"
Di Linchen’s expression shifted instantly as he turned to face the speaker.
The other youth met his gaze with the same detached indifference, eyelids half-lowered. There was no overt arrogance—just a calm disinterest, as if he regarded all things as beneath notice.
His words left the Wind Spirit Clan and the Hidden Sea Clan momentarily stunned—then delighted.
They recognized him immediately: the quasi-heir of the Imperial Clan, widely acknowledged as the most formidable among the Immortal Lords. No one had dared challenge him thus far.
And now, he was speaking in their favor. Clearly, there was internal discord within the Imperial scions themselves!
"I can have him swear an oath."
Di Linchen’s heart sank. He quickly offered a solution.
The silver-robed youth glanced at him with mild disdain, as if to say, “And who do you think you are? What use is an oath?”
He then turned his gaze to Li Hao and said coolly:
"You pride yourself on your talent, reaching this realm within a mere century of soul-lifespan. Impressive, yes—but the path of cultivation isn’t measured in centuries or millennia. It’s about standing firm at the end of time and destiny. That is a true king."
"If no one had stepped in today, you would’ve perished despite your brilliance. A hundred years is nothing more than the blink of an eye in the True Realm. Who would even remember you?"
Though his words were calm, they carried an innate nobility and indifference. He continued:
"Your arrogance has caused chaos, wasting our time. That alone is a grave offense. He cannot protect you. That minor clan cannot protect you. Even that old servant by your side—he cannot protect you either."
At his declaration, countless expressions shifted. Everyone could feel the oppressive majesty of this Imperial youth, as though his words carried the authority of heavenly decree.
Li Hao's eyes flickered as he locked eyes with the other youth. He could tell this one was different from the rest—extremely dangerous.
"If you can withstand one strike from me and live, then it means fate has not yet abandoned you. If not, then let this tiny ripple you’ve stirred fade away."
The silver-robed youth spoke plainly. Immortal laws flowed around his body, and his gaze carried calm authority.
He spoke without even glancing at the Wind Spirit or Hidden Sea clans—as if their opinions were irrelevant.
As a quasi-heir of the Imperial Clan, if he wished to kill Li Hao or let him live, those two clans were of no consequence. Only if one of the Supremes acted in person could that decision be contested—but surely, none would stoop so low.
