Volume 3 - Chapter 385: Defying the Dao-Infant to Shatter the Imperial Scheme, Destroying the Nine Seals to Forge the Dao-Origin - Part 3
With a soul-wrenching resonance echoing from the depths of his being—like the final, sorrowful cry of a shattered Primordial Spirit—countless deafening booms erupted from within the youth’s body. The Nine Sequences shattered, the Sword Dao among them, breaking and merging all at once.
All paths merged into one!
To merge is to return to the source—the origin of the Dao itself!
A terrifying pressure surged from Li Hao’s body. The nine imprints on his forehead fractured and reformed, transforming into a gem-like seal similar to Ying Xiaoxiao’s. But while hers was dominated by the power of time, Li Hao’s Dao-Origin Immortal Seal was shaped like a weathered sword scar!
The moment that sword scar took form, the entire void trembled ever so slightly, as if the Dao itself, buried deep in the true realm, had just sung with joy.
That surging power pouring in from the depths of the void struck terror in all who felt it. Everyone on the mountaintop felt as though they were being scoured by tidal waves.
“Dao... Dao-Origin…”
Even Jianxin and Mingyue were frozen, stunned as they watched the youth undergo his transformation.
The Nine Sequences had shattered. A new Dao-Origin had been born.
He had defied the odds, surpassed all expectations, and at the edge of despair ascended one more step—refining the true realm’s most powerful Dao-Origin Immortal Seal!
“Dao-Origin…”
Whether True Immortal Realm or Immortal Lord Realm, even the gathered kings were shaken, staring at the scene before them in disbelief.
That youth, whose entire being seethed with Dao power, now seemed like a god embraced by the great Dao. Within a single soul’s lifespan, he had accomplished what countless dreamt of—a myth reborn!
“That boy…”
Even the old man fishing alone atop the solitary peak had changed expression, a grave look of awe in his eyes.
Within the Heart-Reflecting Pagoda City, the old man leaning against the ancient tree suddenly stood.
And not far from him, the Heart-Questioning Pagoda itself emitted the cry of a cicada and began to quake—as if it, too, was about to break free of the earth and soar into the heavens!
“Dao-Origin… another Dao-Origin! A disciple accepted by the Supreme Emperor after countless ages has actually managed to condense a Dao-Origin!”
“O Heavens, are you truly determined to destroy this line, to crush the final spark of Dao-Origin?”
Across the vast expanse of Yan Chu, cries of grief and laughter rang out, mingled with anguish and wailing.
Above the clouds, the Chu Emperor and others stood dumbfounded by the scene, lost in thought, words caught in their throats.
None of them had imagined things would go this far.
Dao-Origin… The Chu Emperor’s palm trembled slightly. For the first time, doubt gnawed at him.
Was it truly worth it—sacrificing two Dao-Origins?
Was it?
As the Dao power surged, Li Hao completed his transformation. An aura that completely suppressed even the True Immortal Realm cultivators like Jianxin and Mingyue rippled out from his body.
At that moment, even among the Immortal Lord Realm competitors, faces turned pale, seized by a sense of dread.
Li Hao’s eyes glowed red with emotion as he stared directly at the towering figure before him. Word by word, he said, “If I offer myself in exchange—will you let them go?”
The Supreme narrowed his eyes slightly and replied slowly, “With talent such as yours, if I were to let you leave, you would bring chaos to the true realm. You shall join him—train in my Celestial Palace for ten thousand years. Become my foremost Demon-Slaying General. That will be your atonement—for your master.”
At his signal, the Celestial Guard Commander finally came to his senses, still reeling from the youth’s monstrous display.
But before the Supreme, no matter how monstrous, he was but a mayfly—incapable of resistance.
The Commander’s domain surged forth, intent on capturing Li Hao as well.
Just then, Ying Xiaoxiao, whose gaze had gone vacant, suddenly regained clarity. Her eyes shimmered with seven-colored light, and in the next instant, a terrifying force swept in from the depths of time and space.
That force tore straight through the Celestial Guard Commander’s domain, bypassing him entirely, and enveloped Li Hao outside the barrier.
“Go…”
Ying Xiaoxiao murmured, her gaze locked on Li Hao. Radiant light poured from her celestial body as her form began to crack like a porcelain vessel, glowing with the final remnants of her radiance.
Li Hao froze. Though he didn’t know what method she’d used, he understood one thing—she was trading her own fall for a glimmer of hope for him.
That overwhelming power swallowed him instantly. Time and light twisted around him, as though a thousand years had passed in a breath.
But before Li Hao could steady himself, another terrifying power struck—the shell around him cracked, and that flowing current of time vanished in an instant.
It was as if nothing had happened.
He looked up.
Still the Southern Domain. Still the edge of the Imperial Platform.
Still that awe-inspiring Supreme before him.
The Celestial Guard Commander remained frozen in the same stance. But within his domain, the pale blue figure had withered like a spent candle. Her celestial body was shriveled, consumed by rainbow light. Only a porcelain-like face remained, faintly warm.
Yet when she saw him reappear, her eyes—once so full of tenderness—plunged into despair in an instant.
