Volume 3 - Chapter 385: Defying the Dao-Infant to Shatter the Imperial Scheme, Destroying the Nine Seals to Forge the Dao-Origin - Part 1
Ying Xiaoxiao’s face suddenly changed. The Dao-Origin Immortal Seal on her forehead flared with light, and a vortex of time and space twisted into being. Her figure flickered—and in the blink of an eye, she took Li Hao with her, traversing back to half an hour earlier.
Around them, the scene showed Li Hao slaughtering Jin Fengling and the other two.
Yet just as they were about to step into that moment, an unseen force silently reached out, monopolizing the time-space around them and jolting them backward.
They were forced back into their original timeline. Li Hao vaguely sensed that some invisible force had formed an anchor point on their bodies, binding them to a fixed time-space—the very one they had just come from.
Although they had grasped the essence of the Dao of Time and could shuttle across temporal streams, even disrupt short-term timelines, their own anchors remained fixed, slowly drifting within the river of time. In all other timelines, they were outsiders; their essence still belonged to their original point in time.
Time Freeze could only suspend their physical bodies and what they carried—it could not pause the anchors tied to their very fates.
Li Hao suddenly realized: time wasn’t just a single line, nor a flat layer. It was made of many layers.
Before the reverberation of their failed temporal jump had even settled, the Celestial Guard Commander’s palm imprint descended. Violent domain force surged forth, suppressing the two of them as if the weight of an entire world had come crashing down.
With a thunderous boom, Ying Xiaoxiao shielded Li Hao beneath her, pushing herself to the limit. Her entire body erupted in multicolored radiance as she spat a mouthful of glowing blood, crashing into the nearby imperial platform.
Li Hao, shielded from the brunt of it, still felt his internal organs rupture. His immortal body cracked open under the residual impact.
"She actually dared attack a Supreme’s personal disciple! Unbelievable!"
"To challenge imperial might head-on—no wonder the Supreme made a move to capture her."
"A disciple of the Sin Immortal acting so wantonly... She didn't even try to escape, only focused on slaughter."
Outside, countless spectators were stunned and abuzz with chatter.
Earlier, they had seen Ying Xiaoxiao suddenly attack Jianxin and Mingyue without a word. Then came the Supreme’s command to seize her.
Hearing the murmured speculations atop the mountain, Li Hao froze for a moment—then realized the full extent of what had just happened. Rage and shock filled his heart. Before countless watching eyes, the Supreme had reversed the flow of time and causality—erasing Ying Xiaoxiao’s voice, severing part of the cause, and showing only the effect: her attacking Jianxin and Mingyue. Cause and effect had been flipped!
Right here in the Southern Region, before all those watching eyes, the Supreme had brazenly created a false illusion!
Only now did Li Hao truly feel the terror of an Immortal Emperor. Time and space were like a scroll in his hands—reordered, redrawn at will. What seemed perfectly real was in truth an illusion constructed from rearranged fragments. A flawless lie.
"Hmm?"
The Celestial Guard Commander hadn’t expected the girl to withstand his first strike. His face shifted slightly, eyes deepening. The domain core in his palm surged with fearsome Dao force as he unleashed a second palm strike.
"A mighty Immortal King bullying a mere Immortal Lord—what cowardice is this?!"
Seeing this, Meng Wanning couldn’t help but roar in fury.
She knew the Great Dream Clan had already offended the Celestial Palace. At this point, they had nothing more to lose.
They had lived in fearful seclusion since the fall of the Emperor Tianyang. But if they couldn’t even protect a youth like Li Hao, what hope remained for the future?
The Celestial Guard Commander said nothing, only pressed harder.
Even the quasi-imperial scion had been defeated. This girl was already invincible among Immortal Lords—only if one of the major clan's peerless heirs appeared might there be a chance of matching her.
As the domain force condensed within his palm, it was as if he were capturing an entire world to trap Ying Xiaoxiao within.
Ying Xiaoxiao had already sent Li Hao out. She had long anticipated this moment. Now, she could only place her hopes in the Imperial Clan—trusting that for the sake of face, they would truly protect Li Hao.
"Imperial Clan, you gave me your word—you said he would come to no harm!"
Beneath that massive palm, her eyes turned toward Di Jiming, whose face was twisted in shock.
Di Jiming hadn’t expected that even in such a desperate moment, the girl’s thoughts were still on the boy. What kind of charm did he possess, that even such a peerless genius would hold him so dear, even unto death?
"My word always counts."
He responded grimly.
But beside him, the Imperial Clan’s elder wore a worried expression as he glanced toward the Celestial Palace Supreme, faintly sensing the gravity of the situation.
"Enough!!"
Suddenly, a thunderous roar shook the heavens.
Li Hao stared at the falling palm, every hair on his body bristling with fury. He raised his head, locking eyes with that towering figure in the sky. He knew now that any plea, any outburst of anger, was futile—the man could even control the words from his mouth.
"What do you want? What will it take for you to let us go? Name your condition—I'll agree to anything!"
He clenched his fists, spitting out each word.
He had thought this was his burden to bear alone, but now he had dragged in the Great Dream Clan. Even Wang Lao was being implicated, and Ying Xiaoxiao was ready to sacrifice herself for him.
In her eyes were stories untold. Just imagining her dying before him tore at something deep inside, a pain beyond words.
But hearing Li Hao’s desperate plea, the Supreme didn’t even lift an eyelid.
"Compared to her, you no longer matter," he said indifferently.
